There are at least three forms of legal entities to choose from to start a non-profit organisation; namely a voluntary association, non-profit trust and non-profit company. Though they have the not-for-profit element in common, they are very different. The non-profit company organisation is the most complex of the three, the non-profit trust less complex and the voluntary association least complex.

A notarial bond is a form of security used by creditors to ensure the repayment of large sums of money loaned to debtors. Once a notarial bond is approved, a hypothec or a right is registered in favour of the creditor, at the Deeds Office in the area in which the property is located.

Whether you are selling or buying property, you need the original title deed. It is necessary for the purposes of drafting a deed of transfer which; records the transfer of property from one person to another; carrying over any conditions, prohibitions applicable to the disposal of the property and/or the cancellation of any registered bonds over the property. Original title deeds containing restrictions on the property may not be transferred to a buyer and/or person entitled to the property unless those conditions are met, the same applies to mortgage bonds.

Every journey has a start and an end. It is safe to say that one does not venture on journeys without an objective. That being said, one need look no further than Section 3 of the Road Accident Fund Act of 1996 (The Act), which encapsulates the Acts very essence. Section 3 states that;

‘the object of the fund shall be the payment of compensation in accordance with this Act for loss of damages wrongfully caused by driving a motor vehicle’ .

On 31 March 2017, the Western Cape Division of the South African High Court delivered a judgment, which was soon reported, on mainstream media mediums as well as social media vehicles, as having legalised the use of the marijuana (otherwise known as cannabis) in South Africa.

The Constitutional court case titled South African Revenue Services v Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration and others 2017 (1) SA 549 (CC) involved an altercation between staff employees of South African Revenue Services (SARS).
